"Connecting Hearts: Yunnan Journey" 2025 Laos Rehabilitation Assistive Devices for the Elderly and Disabled Project Launch

On October 22nd, the "Heart Connection Yunnan Journey" 2025 Laos Rehabilitation Auxiliary Appliances for the Elderly and Disabled Project, supported by the Provincial Foreign Friends Association and implemented by the Yunnan Provincial Rehabilitation Auxiliary Appliances Technology Center, was launched in Luang Prabang. Ambassador Zhang Shipei announced the official launch of the project and witnessed the donation and adaptation of rehabilitation aids with guests. Chairman Feng Shaowang expressed his gratitude for the kind act of the Chinese side, saying that the "Heart to Heart Yunnan Visit" project, which benefits local people by helping the elderly and the disabled, has made an important contribution to the development of health work in Rangsim. It embodies the spirit of "four goods" between good neighbors, good friends, good comrades, and good partners, and is a practical move to promote the construction of a community of shared destiny between China and Laos. Subsequently, the guests from both sides inspected the project site and had in-depth exchanges on the implementation of the project.


"Heart to Heart, Yunnan Journey" The 2025 Laos Rehabilitation Assistive Devices for the Elderly and Disabled Project aims to provide prosthetics and other rehabilitation assistive devices for people with disabilities in Laos, offering necessary services such as assistive device adjustments, gait training, and training in the use and maintenance of devices. The project will also conduct experience exchanges and technical sharing with Laos rehabilitation assistive service agencies and technicians, providing continuous assistance for the development of disability services in Laos. From October 21st to 29th, 8 technicians in two batches will carry out the project in Luang Prabang and Vientiane, and provide follow-up services such as inspection, adjustment, repair, and maintenance for the disabled individuals受益 from the first phase of the 2024 project.

" Heart-to-Heart Yunnan Journey" is a "small but beautiful" people's welfare public welfare project implemented by the Provincial Foreign Friends Association in South Asia, Southeast Asia, and the Indian Ocean region. From 2022 to 2025, a total of 43 projects were implemented in Laos, covering many fields such as infrastructure, drinking water safety, medical and health care, agricultural technology, ecological environment protection, assistance in education, youth entrepreneurship, and capacity building. It has made positive contributions to enhancing traditional friendship between China and Laos, promoting local practical cooperation, and promoting the construction of a community with a shared future between China and Laos.
